Having worked for several years in both the business world and the arts community, I have a unique perspective on the world and technology, always looking for ways to fuse the two together to allow people to work at their most efficient.
That’s the official statement. But does it say who I am? I’ve never thought so. If you have a moment, keep reading, you just might be pleasantly surprised.
Although joining the “official” industry of 9-5 jobs, I have never left my artistic endeavors behind. From my first day on the job at Nuveen Investments, I have continually found a way to bring my two worlds together. I strive to keep those worlds as close as possible – it helps bring an office together. The people you work with are just people. You don’t know them, they are relationships out of convenience. No one wants to be alone at work. Although you spend more time with co-workers than you do your friends or your family, all you have in common is the fact that everyone walks around on the same bit of carpet for eight hours a day, five days a week, 52 weeks a year.
How much better is it when everyone can also laugh together? In addition to my technical skills, my wireframing and documentation aptitude, my understanding of the true art of balancing functionality and design, you get my skill to make people laugh.
